Help required – Boulder Stabilisation In Butts' Chamber – Thrupe Lane Swallet
A boulder between Butts' chambers, stable at 1mm last year and earlier this year, shifted significantly to a 40mm gap by Easter. An assessment on April 30th ruled out bringing it down or installing steelwork. The chosen solution is to fill the cavity beneath to provide a stable foundation.
Broken Ladder in Eastwater
Warning – Broken Ladder – Eastwater Southbank Round Trip
The ladder down the slope, after the second pit, leading to the balcony overlooking the Chamber of Horrors has broken. The right-hand wire has snapped and the ladder is not safe.
Please do not use it and take your own kit equipment to tackle the slope.
